A viral social media trend encouraging people to microwave popular NeeDoh toys has sent children to the hospital with serious burn injuries, according to doctors. Medical experts warn the gel-filled toys can overheat and even explode if microwaved or left in a hot car, causing severe burns to the face and hands. Squishy toys can become a burn hazard when left in a hot car. The gel can get extremely hot and if the toy bursts, it can cause a serious burn. Check your car for these types of squishes and if one pops and sticks to the skin, do not pull it off (you could remove skin with it). Get medical help. And if it’s a minor burn that you’re treating at home, skip the ice and butter. Run the area under cool water for 20 min.
